Burning Down The House, a Quick PSA

Watch out for all those old devices with lithium batteries. The batteries will eventually go bad and could start a fire.

I recently found an old iPhone in my basement that was about to become a major problem. So go and check your junk drawers for any old electronics that might have batteries that could burst and start a fire.

The Gear I Use - 2021

Hey everybody, this is Chris Brandt, welcome back to another FUTRtech video.

I get asked about my gear all the time, so I thought as the year winds down, this would be a good time to give an update on what I am using. The list of stuff is long, but I wanted to highlight some of the things that really help me produce this channel. I will put a more comprehensive list in the notes for this show below.

I will also note that some of these links are affiliate links, which doesn’t cost you anything extra, but does give a little bit back to the channel.

The Best Webcam You Didn't Know You Already Have!

I want to tell you about the best webcam you probably already have that you didn’t know was a webcam.

Hey everybody, welcome back to another FUTRtech video. I have been talking about how to improve your video for video conferences, and people are always asking me, how can I make it better without spending much money. I’ve got a solution for you folks. Here it is, your iPhone. We all have enjoyed the great videos we are able to get from this phone, but with ElGato’s EpocCam, you can make it your wireless webcam.

You may have heard of ElGato from their very popular CamLink 4K HDMI converter that lets you use your Mirrorless or DSLR camera as a webcam. EpocCam is a great addition to your setup, and it is incredibly easy to use. All you need is an iPhone and a Windows or MacOS system.

Making Your Video Conferences Great

So, I have a question for you.

There is a study from 1967 that indicated that 93% of communication is non-verbal. Now there are some caveats to that study, but If up to 93% of Communication is non-verbal, why are you still having low quality voice calls with your customers?

This is one of the reasons that email and text have been such challenging communications mediums. Email is great for memorializing a conversation, but not a great way to have one.
