Today we are talking with Alex Rawitz, Co-Founder of Dimo. Dimo is an open source platform designed to connect drivers with their data. By doing this they are creating an app store platform that is vendor agnostic, opening up a whole world of new functionality in your car.
I remember the first time I used a motorized scooter. I was in Austin Texas for SXSW, and they were suddenly everywhere. It was really, the only practical way to get around. It was incredibly fun, and, with the way I was riding it, I don't know how I got out of there without a serious injury. But there is more to this micro-mobility movement than just a fun toy. Today we are talking with a company that is changing the game with a better vehicle that will open the market to a wider range of users.
Drones have really changed how we view the world. It brings aerial photography and videography to the masses. Previously what could only be captured by helicopter or plane can now be viewed by drone. For construction projects, this kind of insight can be critical. We are going to talk with a company that specializes in making this happen.
I am always interested in keeping an eye on what is happening in the autonomous vehicle space, and I am particularly interested in what Sequoia invests in. For those of you unfamiliar with this storied venture capital firm, they have been the money behind many blockbuster investments like, Apple, Cisco and Oracle.
