Zero Trust, Microsegmentation, What does it all mean and why does it matter. Well, we are going to try to answer those questions today, because we are talking with Illumio, so stay tuned.
Hi everybody, welcome back to another FUTRtech video podcast. We are going to be talking about a couple of hot topics in security, Zero Trust and Microsegmentation. So many companies have been told by their auditors to segment their systems, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing. Zero trust is talked about a lot, but few companies have made it work.
With the infrastructure sprawl that has been accelerated by the pandemic, many companies are flying blind without the necessary visibility into their assets. Over the past few years, one company has emerged and grown to be a dominant player. Today we are going to talk to the big dog in the monitoring space, Datadog.
Today we are talking with SentinelOne. Their product faired better than most against the SolarWinds attack. To quote their site, “SentinelLabs, the research division of SentinelOne, has confirmed that devices with SentinelOne agents deployed were excluded from the SUNBURST attack from an early stage, even before any communication with a malicious C2. Technical analysis confirmed that SUNBURST was unable to disable or bypass SentinelOne in any environment.” I’ll let that sink in for a second.
There are some people in IT who become quite notable for always being at the center of great things. They enable others with their knowledge, and by doing so, they rise to legendary status within the community. Today we have just such a person, Duncan Epping.
Here at FUTRtech, we love to talk about great new companies. We also have been talking a lot about security these days with major breaches regularly appearing in the headlines. Today you are in luck, because we are going to be talking about both.
One of the challenges with security is knowing where to spend your money and where to put in the effort to achieve the best results. The truth is, unless you know what the state of your security is, it is very hard to take effective measures to protect your organization.
Today we are going to be continuing our conversations about security by talking with Arctic Wolf CEO Brian NeSmith.
Brian has been a fixture in the industry for quite a while. Prior to Arctic Wolf, Brian was CEO of Blue Coat Systems and Ipsolon Networks. Arctic Wolf is a rare venture backed services company that has raised $350 million and is solving security challenges for Small and mid sized businesses with an eye toward the Enterprise.
Today we are going to be talking about re-invigorating your career during a Pandemic with Organizational Psychologist Nick Tasler who appeared in Podcast #9 back in May of 2020.
When we first talked with Nick Tasler in May of last year, he was trying to figure out what he was going to do when the events industry went into lockdown effectively ending his work as a keynote speaker. We talked about pivoting, and Nick made a great pivot.

There have been some very high profile hacks in the news lately. Some of these have even been hacks of security vendors themselves, from Microsoft to FireEye, but perhaps one of the most disturbing was the recent SolarWinds hack that we are just starting to come to grips with. If you are not familiar with the details of this attack, you need to be. Today we are going to talk security so buckle in.
Today we are going to talk about two big pandemic concerns, pivots and security, and we have a company taking care of both, Sysdig. Sysdig was founded as an open source troubleshooting tool by Loris Degioanni in 2013. You may know Loris Degioanni as co-creator of the very popular open source network analyzer Wireshark and the container security tool Falco.
Those of you who know me know I like a good turn around story and I have a great one for you today. When the pandemic struck, it hit the events industry particularly hard. Our partner for the eMERGE 2020 Chicago event, Echelon Design felt the impact immediately, seeing a drastic reduction in engagements with no clear end in sight.
Just a quick video to thank all of the folks who helped make the channel go this year. So glad to see 2020 in the rearview mirror, and looking forward to 2021. Have a great and safe holiday and I will see you next year.
I want to tell you about the best webcam you probably already have that you didn’t know was a webcam.
