VMWorld 2019: Hands On WIth Clumio

There has been a lot of interest in Clumio for some time. When I posted my last video on our dinner with Poojan Kumar, CEO and founder of Clumio, I couldn’t say a whole lot because they were still in stealth.

As I mentioned before, there was a lot of interest because they are back by Sutter Hills Ventures and Mike Speiser who typically invests a lot of time and effort in nurturing young companies in his portfolio. Then there was a lot of buzz in the community because they began hiring some of the best in the field. They hired a lot of people with experience in early stage companies that have been hugely successful.

I got a chance to sit down with some Nutanix customers at this years Nutanix .NEXT conference to talk about their experiences and their perspectives on the hyper converged market. It is always great to hear from the actual customers about their decision process and the problems they are looking to solve.

SXSW 2019 Interview with BYGmusic

One of the big themes at SXSW this year was the importance of Influencers, and in particular Micro-Influencers. BygMusic is a company founder by Krish Sharma, a Grammy winner, and Mike Alden. The idea is to source bands with a following and connect them to advertisers who see value in their fan base. This helps the Marketers reach audiences that have been challenging to access and it gives musicians a way to monetize their music.

SXSW 2019: A Talk With Access Partnership

Every time I go to a website these days, I always have to click on that, "I agree to using cookies",” button. It is fairly silly as pretty much every site I have gone to for the last ten years has used cookies. I would be shocked if I got a pop up that said, “this site doesn’t use any cookies at all,” because then I would be wondering, how do they pull that off? This behavior is being driven by attempts to conform to GDPR requirements.
