Bunnie Huang talks Hardware Hacks
Where did your computer come from? How many hands could have touched your machine before you powered it on for the first time? They say it takes a village to raise a child; it takes several countries to build a cutting-edge computer.
Several month ago, I had an opportunity to spend some time with Mike Rogers who was the commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and the Director of the NSA. He stressed how important it is to know the supply chain of your equipment in order to maintain a secure environment. He stressed that not only do you need to know your suppliers, but you need to know the entire supply chain of all the components.
Boing Boing has done a piece on Bunnie Huang, a well respected hardware hacker. He gave a presentation on hardware hacks at BlueHat in Isreal, and it is worth the time to watch.
